Do You Want To Improve Your Roulette Game?

We all know that roulette is a game of chance. When the croupier spins the wheel and tosses the ball, it’s anyone’s guess where the ball will land. This is true when playing at a mobile casino as well as a traditional land-based one. However, this doesn’t mean you just start playing relying on blind luck. No, you need to develop your roulette strategy to increase your odds of winning. Here are some tips and tricks to help you improve your roulette game and give you a better chance at taking home a profit.

There Isn’t Just One Roulette

The original version and that most often found in casinos around the world and online is the European Roulette (French Roulette). This wheel has 37 pockets: one green zero and the numbers 1-36, half in red and half in black. It is also the better wheel to play on as you’ll see below.

The American version has one extra number: the double-zero. Its pocket is also green and is located directly across the wheel from the zero pocket. The order of the numbers around the wheel is also different from the European version. The house edge for American Roulette is also higher than that for European (5.26% versus 2.7%). An increased house edge means that over time you lose more money playing American than European as this percentage can be thought of in the same way as bank transaction fees.

Understand The Odds Before Placing Your Bet

As you know, there are many types of bets in roulette. Newbies generally just play a straight, putting their entire wager on one single number. If the ball lands on your number, that of course means a higher payout. With odds 1 in 37 for European, you have a payout of 35 to 1 thus getting paid 35 plus your original bet. The American wheel offers the same payout, but the odds are 1 in 38, meaning it happens less often.

If you divide your chip (chips) across multiple numbers, your payout will be less, but your odds of winning will be much higher. For the remaining inside bets, the odds are:

Bet TypeAmerican RouletteEuropean Roulette
Split1 in 191 in 18.5
Street and Trio1 in 12.71 in 12.3
Square (Corner)1 in 9.51 in 9.25
Basket (5 Number)1 in 7.6Does not exist
Six Line (6 Number)1 in 6.31 in 6.2

Note that the basket bet is only possible in American Roulette, however it also has a house edge of 7.89% (over 2.5% higher than the others), so it is considered the worst bet.

Outside bets have higher chances of winning but also much smaller payouts than inside bets. The odds for the outside bets are:

Red or Black1 in 2.111 in 2.06
Odd or Even1 in 2.111 in 2.06

Find Good Casinos You Can Trust

When you walk into a big land-based casino, you know you are playing in a legitimate and trustworthy location. When you choose an online casino, you must check a few things to be sure it is just as fair and honest. The first and foremost thing to look for is a license by a recognized gaming authority. When you look at the bottom of any page on Casino Epoca’s site, you will see the Malta Gaming Authority and the Kahnawake Gaming Commission logos, as well as the license numbers and issue dates. If an online casino site does not put their license information in an easily-found location, it is not a place to be trusting with your money.

And speaking of your money, you want to ensure the banking service used will keep your details safe and secure. Casino Epoca shows you exactly which payment methods you can use for your deposits and withdrawals. So when you’re ready to try one of our many roulette games, you can have a good time without stressing about your money being safe!

Always Play With Your Head

As with all casino games, you should enjoy roulette responsibly. Set a budget and be sure you can afford to lose the money you are playing with. Don’t play when you’re under the influence of alcohol or other mind-altering substances because you’re almost guaranteed to lose. And as with poker, avoid “tilt.” When you are angry or frustrated you will end up playing emotionally instead of rationally. This is the time you should take a break and come back to the game when you are calm. When you can truly enjoy your game, you have more fun and a better chance at winning!
